Is it possible to modify inkseparation.tif?

2007-06-23 by Sergei Antonov

Hello!

I am preparing workflow for QTR ink partitioning and linearization
using X-Rite Pulse spectro. Main problem was to write a program that
reads strips without color headers and TIDs -- I don't have color inks
in my printer. I prepared strip targets with 21 and 51 patches that I
could read in one or two sweeps, instead of doing spot measurements.
This program then could insert measured L data right to QTR
linearization table, saving a lot of time.
Next step is to modify ink separation image and convert it to series of
strips compatible with Pulse. I cannot figure out, how to add patches
to that image that will be printed 50% gray, is it possible?

Thanks,
Sergei
