Then I would let the quality of the printer shine and run test on a variety of grain added to your file. You'll get the advantages of quality, no banding color or lack thereof, and the apparent grain or dot pattern that you need. There may also be some help on the Alt Photo Process group, APUG or the Alternative Process web site. I haven't looked to add more noise as I mostly go smooth for platinum and Chrysotypes. Advanced BW mode only prints at much higher resolution. And I've tried selecting the "Fine" quality setting (which goes with the plain paper media and is supposed to be 720 DPI), but the print was poor quality, the BW was made up of colors which you could see, and the image had banding. I'm left with two other options I've though of: find the correct media to use "Image with Text" quality setting (or whatever its called, but that's close) which is also 720 DPI, or try using the Quadtone RIP, which allows me more choice in selecting output resolution.
