Epson 2400: question about creating BW image on transparency at 720 DPI
2007-07-10 by David
I want to print an image on transparency film using my Epson 2400, but I only want printer output to be 720 DPI, which is fairly low resolution for this printer--but I still want a fairly good quality image with good blacks and no banding. Advanced BW mode only prints at much higher resolution. And I've tried selecting the "Fine" quality setting (which goes with the plain paper media and is supposed to be 720 DPI), but the print was poor quality, the BW was made up of colors which you could see, and the image had banding. I'm left with two other options I've though of: find the correct media to use "Image with Text" quality setting (or whatever its called, but that's close) which is also 720 DPI, or try using the Quadtone RIP, which allows me more choice in selecting output resolution. Any other suggestions or thoughs on these methods. Best, David.
