i am using the inks from MIS, and to be truthful, it has been a few months since i have been printing anthing using that printer, and so i am not sure ; but i don't remember using the function black ink only.

I basically used Paul's "numbers" for the papers on his website.

sorry i can't be more helpful.

Ann, are you printing Black Only and with MIS Eboni Black?

Also, do you actually get to click on "Black Ink Only" from the
driver in the setup?

I think it's worth stating again that I got very good results from
the Epson 1280. But it's long gone now. I'd like the same results
from a machine with a smaller footprint. I no longer print larger
than 8.5x11.

the problems Paul mentions. Perhaps it is beginners luck.
