Hello All; I received the UltraPro Satin 2.0 a few days back, but have had time for only a quick test print or two. First impression was that it didn't really look like an 'E' surface paper, the surface was relatively smooth and low-luster. Putting ink on it raised a bit more texture, more so with the Epson than MIS. The base color is indeed a shade creamier than most RC papers, and a mutch better match for the mattboard I use. There's still a bit of difference, but it no longer jumps out at you like most RC papers. Printing both with MIS (K4 on an 1800) and K3 (ABW on a 3800) yielded somewaht different results. The ink color came out warmer on both tests, but the glossier Epson inks showed a bit more gloss differential. Both inks produced a very nice image with more presence and depth than any RC paper I've tried recently. Dmax: uncoated, after a 2-day dry-down, MIS ink: 2.3, Epson ink: 2.48. Coated with 2 light coats of Premier-Art, MIS: 2.4 EPS: 2.59. Now the question of course is how well will it hold up; My test window gets very bright indirect daylight, and most RC papers at the very least start showing base color shifts (I assume from the OBA's burning off) within 1-2 weeks; so I'll get back on that a little later.
