Alan and Tyler,

Thanks for the replies.  I am still befuddled by this.  On most of my 
files (all tiffs) when I add an adjustment layer it increases the 
file size by about 3x.  I am not using masks on these file.  If I 
delete the mask from the channels tab, the file size goes down a bit, 
but not to the original file size. Every once and a while I'll try it 
on a different file and it works fine.  This is using the exact same 
procedure.  I have tried using the adjustment layer icon on the layer 
tab and the add layer from the menu.  No difference.   I'm sure I am 
just doing something stupid, but can't figure out what.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
