The Cone K7 inks are nothing like that. They have been completely reformulated. I guess MIS can't knock them off yet like the did the original Cone quads. K7 never cloggs and are as smooth as you can get in a monochrome pigment, smoother than Epson and a lot more beautiful. A lot of research went into them. They are also much tougher on the paper and are pretty much water proof when dried. You get what you pay for. As for bad chips you better hope the bad ones are not out of place, or bent, because that can destroy the chip sensors on your printer.
