I've been using Paul's 3MK Eboni workflow with an Epson 1800 printer and I am very pleased with the small matte prints produced by this method (I do mostly 8x12 and 11x14 size prints). My favorite papers so far are Red River Polar Matte for the cool/split tones and Crane Museo Portfolio Rag for warm tone prints. Both give a dmax of 1.7+. I also use my Epson 4000 for producing larger carbon prints with Eboni and a little MIS K4 LK to smooth the midtones. I no longer have any interest in using the RC or FB gloss papers for fine art B&W. I do all of my color work with the 4000 and although I could use color in the 1800 as well I just have cleaning carts in the unused color ink slots.
