Thanks Jerry.  It's interesting that Canon doesn't say this on their web
site!  They are VERY specific about the EF lenses...

Are the L series lenses fully electronic?

Now, to bring this BACK on topic...what about B&W?  Does the D30 give
comparable B&W to 35mm B&W?
