>Is that 3MK process doable on an R220? I would not recommend it. The 220 does not share the 1.5 picoliter dot size. It's 3 pl, I believe. The 2200 I'm experimenting with to see if acceptable (to me) 100% carbon prints can be made in larger sizes has a 4 pl dot, and even with LK in the mix to smooth it down, it's a bit on the grainy side for an 8 x 10. I think with certain papers, with Hawk Mtn. Peregrine Velvet being at the top of the list, the K2 UC printers with Eboni installed will be able to make prints that I'll find very acceptable for 16 x 20 and above, and that is the direction I expect to go -- farming out my larger prints to people who can keep their large format printers running often enough to keep them in good shape. Note that this K2 approach does not require a shop to dedicate a 9600 to B&W. All that is needed is a neutral MK, like Eboni or some others that are out there. (And I'm curious about those HP printers with relatively neutral carbon.) Paul www.PaulRoark.com
