While the LK and Light color inks are not used in the 1800, the dark color inks and black are in the same family as the MIS Pro inks. I use Eboni everywhere, regardless of which inkset it was packaged with. MIS says there are differences, but I believe my wire-rod, pull-down tests made the R800 color inks appear to be essentially the same as the MIS Pro dark color inks. I've used the R800 blue for some time as a magenta replacement in the cool toners for the inksets I've been involved with. That is, they mix with standard MIS UT-Pro based inks and print well with the 2200 and other Epson pigment printers. The main thing I've noticed changing is the load of the PK. There as printer speeds have gone up the optimal load seems to have changed. The result is a better dmax from a PK that is optimized for the specific printer, but I've seen no damage to a printer from the use of a PK that is not optimized. So, my best guess is that the MIS Pro dense color inks will be useable in the R1800, but the PK, while useable, may not achieve the ultimate in dmax. But, note that MIS says they are different.
