(Use this process at your own risk)

Turn off printer 
Hold down the three leftmost arrow buttons:
[left-arrow] [down-arrow] [up-arrow]
Do not press the Right Arrow button!

Turn on printer 
Release buttons 
New menu appears 
press up/down arrows to get to the "Clear Counters" menu 
press RIGHT 
press up/down arrows to get to the "Maintenance Tank" menu 
Clear the counter 

Turn your printer off then turn it back on. 

If you go back to the regular printer Menu your maintenance tank 
will now show as being "empty."
