Well, I'm pretty new at this too, but I disagree with that MIS person.
You only need to replace the OEM cart with an Eboni cart. See my post
from a few days ago, 'Great results with BO printing' for details. And
Clayton may jump in here, too, and suggest some information on his
website. (I'm assuming the R1800 has the BO option in its control
software. My R220 does, and it's a lesser printer than yours.)

The color carts need to be there, or the printer won't print. They are
idle however, only used in the cleaning cycle when you power up.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
