RE: [Digital BW] trouble with dark prints on a 3800

ABW – Advanced Black and White. It is possibly the best thing about owning
a newer Epson printer. It gives you the ability to make very nice neutral
B&W prints as well as tinted prints. It is in the Epson print dialog box
under advanced. And as far as I can see color issues are always a part of
any printing step; the degree and source differ.

I still didn’t see you paper listed, but try a soft proof as Steve suggested
in CS3 for a COLOR image. Also are you checking the image soft proof in the
print box ion CS3? You can also use “Let printer Manage Color” with the ABW
mode in addition to No Color Management.

the paper profile is Pro 38PSPP which is what the sample pack recommended.

What is AWB?

Color balance issues don't seem to be applicable to my issues. The
monitor is at it's native 6500K.
