My experience has been fairly good also, at least once I quit using a 
1280 with pigments in it. But I have this cleaning song&dance I go 
through every 2-3 months to remove goo & build-ups that gum up the 
bottom of the head & cause more trouble when you try to do a cleaning 
cycle. That helps a lot...
