Yes. IMO that will be a good beginning. Then print the calibration pattern and make sure you have separation between the 100 and 95% patches. If not, reduce the ink limit and try again. When all steps are distinguished, go ahead and take the patch readings from a print of the 21 step tablet to use for linearizing the curve.
