My experience was with two new R220's. One of them got the OEM inks that came in the box. When I turned on the printer, the registration and warranty screens came up and everything was fine. The other printer got the MIS inkset. When I turned on the printer a screen came up asking me if I was aware that I was not using Epson inks and if I was aware that bad things were about to happen. "Yes" I said. The registration and warranty screens did not appear. I made some prints and everything was fine. For me, the only difference between OEM and MIS was the "opportunity" to register the printer with Epson. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, Frank Jay <frankjay02@...> wrote: > > hello all, > I just ordered the three inks from MIS to use with the Epson R1800. I was told that I had to use the OEM inks with the 1800 first to get it up and running (it is new) then switch to the MIS inks, purge out the old GO and black inks, then I will be ready to print. > > Is this accurate information?
