Actually, I have gotten very good results with glossy and pearl papers. Trouble is, it's just not the look I'm after. When I look at my prints made on Han Fine Art Pearl, I admire its fine quality. But when I pull out one of my of prints made with Epson dye on VFA, I realize how much i preferred the look of the bottomless black against the completely reflection-less surface.
