RE: [Digital BW] Custom cutting Roll Paper

2007-10-24 by E Neilsen

It has appeared often over the last few years. Many use a chop saw to cut
down rolls to smaller sizes. Good blade, tape up the roll to prevent free
paper dust and it shouldn't be a problem.

Why don't they cut it in manufacturing? Probably a bigger waste of resources
than they get back on that time.

A while ago on this or another thread someone said that he binds the roll
very tightly then takes it to a cabinet shop where the cut it for him on a
bandsaw. Seems worth a try.

I'd like to use Epson Enhanced Matte in my R2400 for some panoramics
with Piezography (which works beautifully for me), but can't find 13
inch roll paper.

Has anyone tried having a larger, e.g. 24 inch roll cut into 13 and 11
inch rolls? And if so, who, what and where? The only guillotine
cutter a friend has can't handle this big of a roll. Or is there a
special source of 13, or a reason it isn't available?

I figure I could print well on both sizes as some of the pans don't go
beyond 10 inches wide by 30-40 inches.
