Hi everyone, Altough being a reader i never posted in this group, so it's my premiere. Congratulations for the high level of discussion (almost always ;) and for the good help provided not only by the experts but the rest of the fellows also. I'm not sure if this is the right group to ask this question, because it pertains to QTRIP, but anyway here it goes... Altough my rig is a humble r800 with M3K (with EEM) i happen to have found a little shop with a 7600 almost unused. The lady doesn't understand much of printing BW and the prints come from Photoshop and Epson driver with that "beautiful" magenta cast. I offered to help and hope to be able to get some good prints from the machine for her and to me too with just the Epson Inks. (it's in Europe so we don't get easy -aka cheap- acess to MIS inks). 1st i downloaded the profiles from Fuji to the (roll) papers she uses, and having printed from Photoshop with the profiles it improves a little but not much. Then i suggested giving QTone Rip a try. I looked at the profiles of the 7600 and they are mostly for MATTE papers, the same for the 9600 (which uses the same Epson Inks). I noticed that the 4000 had a few Luster profiles but i don“t know if i can use those. I shouldn't be able to as they belong to Ilford and are for the 4000 which i don't know if it uses the same inks as 7600/9600, but can they be used? Another question i have is that i noticed that there are 3 types of black (PK, Mk, and LK) but the printer only accepts 2 cartridges at the same time. Is this true? If it is, which ones are switchable? Pk with Mk and Lk stays in the same position? Anyone suggests profiles for use with Fuji Canvas board and Fuji Satin based on the ones the exist? If not, which similar papers from Epson should be used? Premier Art Canvas and Premium Luster? In terms of Matte Papers EEM seems to be a wide choice for proofing and EUltraSmooth And Velvet the choice for displaying am i right? Which are your suggestions of Matte paper to use with the 7600? Thank you very (very) much and my appreciation from Portugal Joao
