Steve, Mounting before spraying is a must for me with the ink jet process; which can get expensive if you mess up at all. You lose the print, board, adhesive and most valuable all that time. I would think that some tests would need to be done to see how hot it takes to see a change, if it is indeed possible. I suspect that if you took a piece of unprinted paper, and cooked it in the press or drying box BEFORE printing, you'd be able to test the heat without image. Then you can go back and try it with image content to see what happens to the ink and paper. IN my silver days, I rarely tried to increase the gloss. If I needed a glossier print, I choose a different paper. I have tried to dry-mount the Ultra-smooth after a Premierart coating, and ruined the print completely. Dry-mounting before coating was better, but still tricky. Heat applied that way killed the gloss, but in a very patchy way.
