I bought an Ink Republic CIS for my R2400, and last night I finally installed it. The installation was relatively painless. The documentation was pretty good, but for some reason they had two different set of instructions for the system. One was slightly more detailed. In any case, the system looks pretty good, and after a cleaning cycle, I got a perfect nozzle check. Hopefully that will continue ! :) One thing that worries me a little, though, is whether I'll be able to switch from photo black to matte. The system comes with an extra bottle, tube and damper for MK ink, but in the instructions IR warns not to remove the dampers from the printer once installed, or you'll void the IR warranty. Well, one would have to remove the PK damper to put in the MK damper and so I'm not sure if doing so is a really good idea. In addition, the chips are put in separate from the dampers. Basically, they're two sets of four chips. Each set of four is on a flat plastic piece, and this is held in place by another plastic piece put in perpendicular to the chips. Well, there's a 4 chip set for PK and another for MK. I expect that one would want to replace the PK chip with the MK chip if one wanted to print on matte paper. If so, then you have to remove 4 dampers to allow one to swap out the appropriate 4 chip insert. I'll email IR about this and let everyone know what they say. Even if I really can't switch blacks, so far I'm pretty happy with the system. I'm using MIS K4 inks with Print Fix Pro profiles with extended grays for both color and bw printing.
