I think hard drives are the way to go too. Should be a reliable maker 
with a raid 1 confiquration with a good information window regarding 
when a drive is becoming unstable. Optical discs even under the best 
storage conditions scratch easily if dropped or mishandled.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
