I doubt the 280 driver has a black only printing mode. QTR is "QuadToneRip" - see http://www.quadtonerip.com/html/QTRoverview.html A "rip" (raster image processor") is a third part printing utility that gives us control of the printer where Epson does not. Roy Harrington's QTR is the best value in B&W rips. For my recent inksets and workflows, QTR is used a lot to get the most out of the printers.
