Thanks for your reply. When I begin the process the plunger is at the top of 
the syringe, near the tip, and I pull  back on it to begin and then push it 
forward.  There is resistance when I pull the plunger back. I have not 
noticed any movement on the sides of the black cart. I have clamped the tube 
according to the directions on the inkjetart.com website.  By folding it 
over before clamping, are you saying that I should "double it over" and then 
clamp?  I look forward to your response.  Mike
