I'm sure it is not that easy, but you should be able to get carbon in the 1 or 2 micron range. That and some 3 micron filter material to make sure that you don't have any chunks should get the job done. You may of course need an ultrasonic mixer of some kind to get things in suspension properly, I really doubt it is as simple as dumping particles into the base and mixing with a common stirring device.
