I am asking this question to all the people using 3MK with QTR, expecially with the 3.5pl Epson printers (like Robert Brake). Here is the question. Did you ever compared DMAX obtained from 3MK with that obtained with one black cartridge only (using the same ink, of course)? The rational behind the question is as follow. When you use an ink limit lower or equal to 50 with QTR and more than one ink channel (like you do with 3MK) the head uses the smallest 3.5 pl droplets and it deploys those droplets in many more dots, because of the dithering with thre channels combined. On the other side, when using one channel only, the 100% black is obtained using the largest droplets the printing head is capable of, with the ink being deployed on 1/3 of the points. Therefore, at least in theory, 3MK might be able to induce a larger inkload on the paper and, potentially, a better DMax. Do you 3MK users experience such effect? Thanks. Daniela
