TAi,

Yes, you need an eye-one or other spectrophotometer to obtain the Lab  
data needed to make the profile.  An alternative would be to select  
printer management (no profile) in Lightroom and in the QTR print  
dialog select your 3MK profile as usual.  This would be similar to  
printing in CS with no color management.
