As previously stated, the OS can access more RAM, and PS will use this
as a scratch disk. Obvioulsy accessing RAM is quicker than a disk. MS
on their site somewhere do have some benchmarks for PS 3 on XP 64 for
an 8 GB dual processor machine compared to XP Pro.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
