Digital BW, The Print

Anyone shoot Polaroids with a 4x5 and then scan them??? Is the quality 
high? Or, do you use the Polaroid film that also produces negatives, 
and just scan the negatives? I was thinking about scanning the positive 
print Polaroids because I've heard those Polaroid films that produce 
the negatives create a kinda messy negative, and if I'm 4 miles out in 
the desert hiking a trail, or in field for several days/ a week the 
negatives could be a problem, so just using the positives and scanning 
them later sounded like a viable option. I am just wondering if anyone 
does this, and how much resolution you lose if you scan the positive 
Polaroid prints?
