Re: [SPAM][Digital BW] Re: Calibrating a laptop display

2008-04-29 by Richard Smallfield

Hi,
having got my Epson back from the service people, I plugged it in ... and lost my monitor calibration again. Very odd - seems like a call to Dell is needed.

Anyway, I wondered, re monitor calibration, should one leave the graphics card adjustments alone (set to Default) and leave everything to the monitor calibration device (Eye-One Display in my case) or is it ok to use the adjustments in the graphics card settings to fine-tune the brightness when running i1 Match?

Is there a conflict here?

The last calibration I did I used the Fn-arrow keys to set the monitor brightness which is very crude, but in the end the gamma was pretty close to what it should be when the profile had been made.

I can't use Easy mode because the cd/m2 has been as much as 17 points out when I do that - and they say the max that is ok is 5 points.

thanks,
Richard
