Re: [Digital BW] Edge effects

2008-05-05 by Shoshanna Moser

For a number of years now I've used both Photo/Graphic Edges from AutoFX
<http://www.autofx.com/products/PGE/detail.html> and PhotoFrame from
onOne Software (formerly Extensis Products)
<http://www.ononesoftware.com/detail.php?prodLine_id=10>, and have found
them to offer a comparable range of extremely versatile, very high
quality effects.

Of the current versions, Photo/Graphic Edges 6 and PhotoFrame 3, I
prefer the latter, which is slightly less expensive, has a more
user-friendly interface, and, in my opinion, a more interesting
collection of edge effects.

You may find it useful to know that their edge and frame files are
interchangable-- an edge effect from PhotoGraphic Edges can be used in
PhotoFrame, and the other way around, as well-- and edge/frame effects
in several file formats (including jpg) can be used by both plugins.

This is not software that every photographer would necessarily need or
use-- and very few people would have any reason to purchase both
programs-- but there have been quite a few circumstances in which I've
found it very helpful to have available the options they provide.
Either one would be a good investment.

Best wishes,
