Thanks, good advice, I plan to check out the camera carefully. I talked with an experienced repairman & he said that if it isn't good, he could fix it for abt $100. He said the old Leica's are like vintage watches.

All that being said, I question the practicality of trying to apply the Zone
system to a 70 year old 35mm camera. Also, unless the shutter and aperture
are calibrated and consistent, your results will be all over the place.
