Just use flush carts to clean the printer.

I use the Carbon 6 base that Paul developeed (only because I had it 
available) and added ammonia and isopropyl alcohol.

I have converted 3 different printers that way, and converted them back 
to Epson inks, with no problem.  That includes dye inks, the Carbon 6 
ink, etc.

I have not used the Cone inks, but many others have with no problem.
