No, I actually find the surface quite tough. I shocked a friend I was showing the paper to when I dragged a fingernail across the surface of a workprint to show him how hard the surface was compared to a matte paper. The rubbing left a burnish mark of course, because I was pressing into the paper, but it did not scratch the ink off at all.
