Fellows, there will probably be some people who are going to order the MIS Variable Mix Hexatones in order to install them on their 1270/80/90 printers. I tried the same this week and actually killed my printer. Though I don´t exactly know why this happened let me warn you not to make the same mistake (?): What happened is, that after installing the CIS system my printer always reads the color cartridge as "e m p t y" though it is full. It doesn´t matter if I put an n e w Epson cart in it or the CIS cart with the CIS chip. Even if I change the black and color chip of the CIS carts, the printer will read the color cart as empty and the black cart as "full" (so it is not a defective chip). I even downloaded the MIS sofware reset program for Epson chips, but that didn´t fix the problem. The only explanation I´ve got for this strange behaviour is, that the original Epson color cart actually w a s e m p t y befor I installed the CIS system. So before we find another reason: dont swap to CIS with "empty-reading" of your OEM carts. Let me stress, that I´ve got two CIS systems from NoMoreCarts on my 1160s. They do very well. The support of the company was excellent in this case. They answered my e-mails promptly, though it was daytime here in Germany - and they generously offered me a full refund without knowing, why I produced this mess (changing the Chips caused a messy ink spilling). So I do recommend the CIS - but don´t install it, if your printer reads any cart empty. Bernd
