I think the thick paper check off box is in the menu selection "Extension Settings".  Also, sometimes the feed rollers get paper dust on them and they do not feed evenly.  The paper passes right through then.

I fix these dirty feed rollers by taking a sheet of heavy paper, spraying the leading edge with Photo Mount Adhesive,  lightly to about a third of the way down the paper.  Let dry well; hours!

Then feed that sheet, adheasive first, several times on both sides.  The dried adheasive picks up the paper dust.  In Europe I am told that Epson sells a paper like this for roller cleaning.  It is not available here in the USA.
