Digital BW, The Print

Had the same issue in the past. Eboni in K, MK and GL.

Paul Roark had suggested testing all channels by printing the 21-step
image using a single channel. I realized that MY printer had the less
single channel banding in the Y,M,B and R channels.

So I moved my blacks to the Y, M and B channels, modifying the curves
using the method you describe, only I used QTR curve tool instead of
Notepad. Result when 3 best channels are used: banding is gone gone
and gone!

So short answer: Yes and Yes.
