I've been wanting to try Epson Somerset Velvet paper with my 3800. My
plan is to purchase a 24" x 50' roll and cut the paper to 17" widths

Velvet Fine Art and allow me to utilize non textured paper fine art
velvet paper. Has anyone here ever tried doing this?
I've "sheeted" a lot of roll paper for use in any number of different
printers. How easy and effective it is depends on what type of machine
or manual device you use to do the measuring and cutting. It used to
be much easier with the older Encad plotters; they had very simple
controls for running the paper fast forward or back, micro forward or
back, and then cutting when you reached the right spot. I'd attach a
steel ruler and get easy measurements and precision cuts. I probably
should have kept one simply for cutting purposes. Newer printers tend
to want to be smarter than you are, and not let you do things easily
and manually.
