Soon I hope to be using MIS's VMQ Sepia-Neutral inkset in an 1160 and would like to be able to compare notes with other VM users, who might have kept their printer driver more up to date. Looking for my 1160 printer driver, I found first an Apple Control Panel called "Software Update" and ran it. It suggested only CarbonLib 1.5 (which I didn't do because I don't have OS X yet). But would Apple's Software Update know if the 1160's printer driver was out of date? I can't find the driver itself but don't know what I'm looking for. I thought it would be an extension, but I didn't see one that looked promising. On Epson's update download page for inkjets, Epson's web site lists: >Printer Driver v6.3 AE >Macintosh System 8.5 - 9.0 >MSC116063AE.SEA.hqx - 5.9 MB - posted on 7/20/00 >This installer will place a folder on the Desktop labeled, "Stylus >Color 1160 V 6.3AE". Open the folder and run the installer found in >the folder labeled Disk1. Read the "README" file on DISK1 for more >details. This driver will eliminate the need to use the Updater >patch to resolve the character clipping issue. But I've never had a character-clipping or other problem with my driver, whatever and wherever it is. And I hesitate to replace it without knowing what's up. On the other hand, I'm about to install the Neutral-Sepia inkset and would like to be able to compare notes with other 1160 MIS VM users, who might be using v6.3 AE. Any advice about 1160 driver maintenance with VM use in mind is welcome. Sam
