Epson convinced the U.S. International Trade Commission to bar a number 
of third party cartridges at the border.  As far as I know there has 
been no thread of a direct law suit against MIS.  One third party 
seller who got rather aggressive with ads has been directly 
contacted/threatened.

So far, carts are still reasonably available, as are CIS/CFS units.  In 
fact, I think it'll be impossible for Epson to stop the CIS/CFS 
approach.  If need be Epson's own carts (recycled) and probably dampers 
can be used in making them.
