OK, thanks for your suggestion I'll try it, but the 1800 has never run Photo Rag before, and I suspect that it is more to do with the stiffness and weight of the paper than any coating. However, I'll try Staples and see if they sell the cleaning kit in the UK. Regards, Paul

If it's like 2200 and R800 the problem is coating from paper that
builds up on printer rollers. HPR is reportedly especially prone to
this...
The fix is "inkjet printer cleaning kit" from Staples or other office
supply store. Open an envelope, run the damp paper thru the machine
twice before it evaporates (probably ammonia).
