OK – but when I’m printing from Photoshop and letting the printer manage the colors (no color management checked in the printer driver of course) I still have the option to select a rendering intent. Do the intents matter ? I see minor differences when I switch intents….

Targets aren't printed from a colorspace; they are printed raw, 
defining the printer's native space. Since there is no conversion, the 
target prints the same from sRGB or aRGB.
