It has always been subject to some microbanding, but if multiple inks are used, they hide the problem. The 1800 Eb6-cart issue just cropped up -- it takes a while to show up. I assume a spongeless CIS would avoid that problem. I make mention of problems as soon as I find them. As with any high tech product, the best of today will be obsolete tomorrow.
