Can you cut roll paper w/ a chop saw?

2008-12-28 by steveabrink

I got a free roll of 100'L 44" W rag paper but my Canon IPF6100 has a
24" W carriage. Does anyone know if I can use a finetooth 200T 12 in.
carbide blade to cut the roll to 24"W, and a custom 19&7/8" (because of
blade kerf) or 17" W?

I'm thinking it would burn the paper edge because tight paper would be
more dense than (porous) wood, so I would have to then cut ~ 1/8" off
the burnt edge after the print is made for a 23&7/8"W print.

Anyone ever try this?

Thanks in advance!
