Digital BW, The Print

I'm really into 'what the print looks like on the wall'.  I view all of this other 'investigation' as exercises in science, curiosity, sales, or all of the above.  We can use decent science, but if the science is correct and the print looks like crap, it's of little use.  A 200x view of a poor scan doesn't really say much.

I agree with Bruce. Ted's test was very unscientific, a matter of  
taste mostly. And the reference to the crappy Epson scanner he used  
might not help. He admits that it was an "exercise within reason".

I think each person would have to do a head on comparison with a file  
the way they print (with their equipment and RIP if used) and the way  
Digital Silver prints to get a valid result. I have seen Eric's prints  
and they do look good, but they are a different breed, and one should  
not assume them  to match. Apples and oranges.
