Does this look like the correct software? It installs OK and will run on Vista x64 in XP compatibility mode and there does not appear to be any malware associated with the code. Looks like it is intended for use after reinstallation or replacement of major components. It is kind of like the Epson Printer Service Utility 2 that I downloaded from the Epson site for the 4000 but a bit more primitive looking. It is version 1.1 rather than 2.0 which may explain things. Two modes are supported; sequential and random adjustment.



Sequential allows screwing around with:

-Main Board

-PS Board

-CR Motor

-Eject Frame Assy

-Printer Mechanism

-PF Motor

-Waste Ink Pad

-Front Eject Roller

-PF Roller Shaft

-Printhead

-CR Shaft/CR Unit

-Ink Mark Sensor/PW Sensor

-ASF Assy



Random allows adjustment of:

-EEPROM data copy

-Destination setting

-Initialise PF deterioration offset

-Disenable PF deterioration offset

-Input Head ID

-Head Angular Adjustment

-Ink Mark sensor adjustment and check

-Initialise PF deterioration offset

-Auto Bi-d adjustment

-Manual Bi-d adjustment

-PW adjustment

-First dot position adjustment

-PF adjustment

-CR motor heat protection control



plus a series of maintenance, check patterns and read functions.



So Roger have you or anyone on the forum used this app and if so what should be adjusted to address banding? I am familiar with some of these components but not all and do not want to reduce an R1800 to scrap trying to work it out (but may have to in the interests of knowledge!).
