I use an i1 setup for monitor calibration for several monitors in my home and I find that I cannot always rely on the i1 to setup initial contrast and brightness prior to calibration. There are at least 2 monitors that benefit from the use of QuickGamma for the initial brightness/constrast setup. I also use QuickGamma to make sure my LCD monitors are at proper viewing angles.
