Mike, Something to keep in mind, Epson has some pretty good rebates going thru May 31. I just ordered a 3800 from Atlex for $1149 plus $100 of Epson "professional media." For this Epson is offering a $300 rebate bring the whole thing down to $950 for the printer and paper. The shipping was free. Can't offer any advice on the other models as I am still running my 2400.
