From what I've read, you should be able to "upgrade" to Win7, assuming there isn't significant corruption of the OS. However, I'm getting to believe that major OS upgrades should be done as a "clean" install, especially if you haven't done so in 2 or 3 years. Yes, it's work, but in the end it should be worth it.
